General Family ActivitiesFamily Shabbat DinnersThe monthly Family Shabbat Dinner program is an opportunity for families with children of all ages to gather to welcome Shabbat with blessings, food and community. Our vegetarian potluck dinner concludes as services begin so that families can continue their evening by joining the rest of the congregation in Kabbalat Shabbat. Third Friday of the month, 6:30 pm. Free. Nonmembers welcome. Holiday EventsOur community plans special holiday programs to include families with children of all ages in events such as home-based Sukkah building, Tu B’Shvat planting and a Purim carnival. This is a great opportunity for our community to come together in celebration of the Jewish holidays throughout the year. Nonmembers welcome. Community RetreatThe annual springtime Community Retreat is an opportunity for all members of our community to gather for a weekend of Shabbat celebration, learning and relaxation. In a camp setting (often at Walker Creek Ranch in Petaluma), the community gathers to pray and play together. This child-friendly weekend includes creative outdoor services, fun and challenging Jewish craft projects, campfire songs, hiking and swimming, and opportunities for both formal and informal learning. |
