Beginning Hebrew in Nonbinary Times is an introduction to Hebrew for those ready to learn the alphabet, beginning vocabulary, and grammar. Alongside the basics, we’ll explore how today’s Hebrew is expanding through feminist, trans, and non-binary creativity.

This class is designed as a welcoming, supportive space for people of all genders and backgrounds.

In this class, we’ll explore:
– All Hebrew letters and vowels
– Beginning vocabulary and grammar
– How Hebrew is being reimagined through feminist, trans, and non-binary creativity

Course Details

  • Teacher: Rabbi Reuben Zellman

  • Dates: Mondays, October 5–December 14

  • Time: 6:30–8:15pm (PT)

  • Location: Hybrid — join in person at Sha’ar Zahav or via Zoom

  • Open to: Members and non-members alike!

  • Schedule note:
    This class will not have formal meetings on October 26, November 2, or November 9. However, there will be opportunities for practice and help on Monday evenings, November 2 and November 9.

Cost
